Something I'm sure your teachers have said to you at one point or another is "read, read, read." Why? Because that's really the only way you are going to expand your vocabulary and keep your English up-to-date. And let's face it, who doesn't like learning new words and expressions? I'm still learning and I'm a native speaker! For instance, I've just learnt the meaning of perioperative care - something I didn't know existed in English, let alone as a branch of medicine! Do I really need to know it? Well, probably not, but who knows, in my job as an OET teacher, maybe it will come up in one of the texts, so I'll store it away somewhere in my memory and see if I ever need it again.
In order to help you "read, read, read" we're going to put together some worksheets over the coming weeks to help you keep your English up-to-date. (Don't worry, we aren't going to be teaching you very field-specific words like, perioperative, unless we have to), just words and expressions that you can find in the news every day.
Each worksheet will focus on topics that are of interest to OET and IELTS candidates, as well as for those who are interested in Business or General English - so hopefully, you'll find something you like.
